Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Campo della Maddalena, 30100 Venezia VE, Italy

This tour is the perfect introduction to Venice, giving you an overview of the city’s unrivalled history and a taster of its world-famous cuisine.

We are starting our tour in one of the most historical squares in Venice. It’s chimeneys are iconic as are one of the few left in the city and the Round Church of La Maddalena is part of the masonic history of Venice.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Cannaregio, Venice Italy

We will walk in the Cannaregio neighbourhood, one of the few remaining residential areas of Venice, known for being a popular afterwork meeting spot for thirsty locals. We will take a gentle stroll around and chat about its 1,000 year history and your local guide will offer suggestions on other things to see and do during your stay.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Canal Grande, 30100 Venice Italy

We cross the Grand Canal as part of the tour in the traghetto gondola boat. It’s an experience to discover the main water canal of Venice and see how the life goes by in the “highway” of the city.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Mercato di Rialto, Campiello de la Pescaria, 30122 Venezia VE, Italy

Once in Rialto, the food tasting can begin! A briefing on local products at the market (only available in the morning tour) preceeds our first stop at a small eatery, owned by a group of young locals with a passion for experimenting with traditional recipes, giving them a modern twist. Expect dishes such as black ink calamari, polenta with seafood or seasonal vegetables (served in elaborate dishes).

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Cantina Do Mori, Campo San Polo, 429, 30125 Venezia VE, Italy

As part of the tour stops, this “bacaro” or Cicchetti venue is among the oldest in Venice. Dating back from the 1462 (before the discovery of America!) is one of the main places for the markets vendors to have their lunch break over a glass of local wine and a cicchetto snack.

We will stop here for a glass of local produce wine and a traditional Venetian cicchetto. Your guide will show you all the historical features in the venue while you taste all the local food and wines.

Duration: 25 minutes

Stop At: Ponte di Rialto, Ruga degli Orefici (Rialto) San Polo, 30125 Venice Italy

A few secret and hidden spots near the Rialto are up next, which will demonstrate the importance of moving just one street away from the tourist hordes, to get a little slice of Venice to yourself.

The tour will end at the iconic Rialto bridge, which is surrounded by great restaurants and shops. Your guide will be happy to help you with recommendations for continuing the fun or with directions to help you back to your accommodation.

Our guide Giovanna was wonderful! She took us away from all the tourist traps and showed us some really neat little “out of the way” cafe’s. The food samplings as well as the wine was plentiful!! Lots of walking on this tour so wear your most comfortable shoes- and there really isn’t a chance to sit down. You are mostly standing throughout- but it’s so worth it! Giovanna is a native Venetian and absolutely delightful! She has so much knowledge!!! Many thanks to her for making this a memorable visit to Venice!!

This is the perfect tour if you are interested in exploring authentic food and drink from Venice! Our tour guide "Ludo from Lido" was fun and knowledgable. We learned so much about Venice and loved that we got to get away from the crowds. Not that St. Mark's Square isn't wonderful, this was just a nice change to get away from the super touristy stuff : ) Our family of 5 highly recommends this tour for the delicious food and drink and learning about Venice!

Camilla did a wonderful job! She was very clear, articulate, and informative. It was evident that she cared about our experience and about ensuring that we understood Venice, the people, and their amazing food. For the cherry on top, we were given an abundant amount and a wide variety of foods to try and wine to taste. We had a great time!

Outstanding tour with our local guide Ludovica (Luda) who was born and raised in Venice. We saw the only really remaining residential area of Venice, and learned what the locals eat, to include some great Cicchetti and Wine! We highly recommend this tour, but do it early in your Venice stay, to try the places we went to, and avoid the more touristy places.

My son and I did this tour the first night we arrived in Venice. Our tour guide Claire (Chiara May be her given name) was upbeat and fun. LOTS of wine and appetizers, all delicious. Yes, there were a couple of seafood apps that might not appeal to all (cuttlefish and a cod spread) but she offered alternatives for those two. Her stories were great, lots of Venetian history. Would highly recommend!!

Our tour guide, Clair, was fabulous. She provided so much information about Venice that I did not expect to learn on this tour. It was really interesting to see the back alley spots that are off the beaten path and that would be nearly impossible to find! I had never heard of a Traghetto, so taking that across the canal was really fun surprise. The food and wine were good, but the tour itself was really the highlight!

We had a wonderful time. Our guide,Bea, was very friendly and knowledgeable. If you like food and wine pairings, this is the tour for you! We had lots of dishes we had never tried before. Wines paired perfectly with the foods. Lots of wine. Loved that there were locals at all the bars. We felt like we were living the Italian life!

My guide, Beatrice led me to 6 bacaros, each of where offered a cicchetto and a glas of wine. She is well-known by every barcaro and knows very well what the best at this bacaro. During a tour she explained about Venetian history and current life, like she is a friend of mine since 10 years. A tour is real worth the price.

The tour guide was great but she was the only positive part of the tour. Wine was terrible and my husband and I left completely starving. It was a 3 hour tour with nowhere to sit for even 2 min. Would not recommend if you are looking for any type of substantial food. I have a feeling most people give this a high review because they got overly drunk on an empty stomach. Eat before or after you go! The price of this tour is very high for how little you get as well.
