Don’t miss the chance to visit the elegant and charming city of Verona from Venice and to relive the greatest romance of all times, in the footsteps of Romeo and Juliet. The half day tour is designed to minimize the time spent traveling, as the only tour operator offering the comfort and efficiency of the high-speed rail from Venice.

Reach Verona in just over one hour, an air-conditioned vehicle for a short transfer (10 minutes) from the station to the historic city center is arranged, so there is no time wasted. You will soak in the romantic atmosphere and with your expert guide, you will relive Verona’s fascinating past. Because of its beautifully preserved old town and architecture from its origin as a Roman settlement to the Middle Ages and Renaissance, the city has been declared a World Heritage site by Unesco.

See the walls of Castelvecchio, an impressive, beautifully preserved Medieval castle with its dominating towers and bridge walls. During the tour, other landmarks can be seen, such as the monumental family mausoleum and the Palazzo della Ragione. You will visit the most iconic monument in the city, the stunning Arena: a nearly 2000-year old Roman Amphitheatre and the best preserved of its kind, thought to be older than the actual Colosseum in Rome.

The Skip the line allows a swift entrance into the Arena and so there will be more time to admire its corridors, perfectly oval shape and interiors. The Arena dominates the main square, Piazza Bra, which is the heart of the city and where visitors and locals congregate to enjoy the pleasant atmosphere while sipping a coffee or an aperitif.

No tour of Verona would be complete without a visit to the famous courtyard of Juliet’s House, which hosts the statue of Juliet and from which you can see Juliet’s balcony. Every day there is a pilgrimage of visitors, who come here to hang love messages on the wall of the courtyard. You will walk past the house of Romeo, while your guide will tell you all about the evocative places that inspired Shakespeare’s masterpiece.

You continue your tour covering the most significant landmarks of the city, such as the monumental Porta Borsari, an ancient Roman City Wall, and the stunning Piazza delle Erbe. It was originally the Roman Forum and it is now surrounded by characterful medieval buildings, still showing colorful frescoes on their facades.

You now have time to enjoy the city at your own pace: Verona offers a variety of shops as well as restaurants and cafes, where you can enjoy a very special evening, soaking up the atmosphere of this beautiful city. Your guide will give you the best tips on where to try some of the local delicacies for dinner and the famous local gelato.

A transfer will be ready for you at the end of your free time, so that you can get to the station comfortably and on time for your fast train back to Venice.
