Skip the Line: Versailles Audio-Guide Tour with Private Transport

Your tour to Versailles starts with hotel pickup in Paris in either the late morning or midday, depending on whether you select the half-day or full-day tour when booking. Hop aboard your private minibus, and head out of the city to Versailles.

When you arrive, you have priority access to enter the Palace of Versailles (about one hour after your pickup time in Paris). Receive your audio guide, and begin your independent exploration of this sumptuous royal residence, the center of the French monarchy, court, and government for 107 years. Your audio guide leads you through the King's State Apartment, a richly decorated space where the king lived continually in public, seen by all the court. Continue with the Hall of Mirrors, an extravagant gallery devoted to the glory of the king, overflowing with mirrors, marble, and a painted ceiling that represents the reign of Louis XIV.

Then head outside to stroll through the French gardens designed by André le Nôtre, including fountains, the Orangerie, and roughly 200 statues. You can also visit Marie Antoinette's Hamlet and the Petit and Grand Trianon—the queen's escape from formal life in front of the court, with all its rules and traditions. At this small private farm in the countryside, she had parties with friends and grew vegetables. Goats, ducks, geese, and pigs welcome you to her respite.

Your tour ends with pickup at Versailles in the early evening for the 1-hour drive back to Paris for drop-off.
