About this activity
Start your half-day Palace of Versailles (Chateau de Versailles) tour with a walk through the magnificent Gardens of Versailles (Jardins de Versailles), which contain about 210,000 flowers that are planted annually within the gardens’ 1,980 acres (800 hectares). Your knowledgeable guide will tell you about the development of the gardens, which are one of the most-visited attractions in France.

Next, bypass the queues with your skip-the-line admission into the palace! Enjoy a guided tour through the Palace of Versailles, where you’ll learn about the palace’s history, including its function as the center of political power in France from 1682 to 1789. Explore the palace’s unique interior rooms, including the King’s State Apartments and the Hall of Mirrors, which served as a passageway and meeting place.

Choose to visit Versailles on a Tuesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday and your ticket will also include entrance to the musical gardens (Tuesday and Friday) or musical fountain shows (Saturday and Sunday). Take some extra time after your half-day guided tour to watch the wonderful fountain displays set to classical music and discover the gardens at your own pace.

Our tour guide Gabriella was amazing. She was extremely knowledgable and efficient. She had a good sense of humor too. After our tour we walked to the Petit Trianon which we recommend. We wish we would of signed up for the full day tour including the Trianon. If you decide to stay for the day and walk around rent the golf carts! I wish we had since there is so much to see.

Tour guide was great. We learned a good deal of history and enjoyed seeing the beautiful palace, paintings, sculptures, and gardens. Our guide was very informative and warm. He made the tour even more enjoyable.

I'd been once before and loved it. Was so excited to bring family members through. Everything about this tour ran late. Too many people were allowed in, I basically looked at a peoples backs as long as I could stand it. Half way through we left our group. It was so crowded we could not enjoy a single thing. Went outside to see the very last of the water shows. Such a disappointment this time. We even went on a Tuesday!

We enjoyed this. I do recommend getting the garden pass. It is more of a heavily treed area with paths and fountains and not so much a garden, but very nice.

the skip the line was great and I would recommend but I think taking a guided tour is much more informative

The tour itself was very informative and we learned a lot from the experience. It felt a little fast and I didn't feel that we got to soak in the details of each room, but there was a lot of ground to cover so it was understandable. We even got a tour of a little bit of the gardens and it's history. The skip the line feature of this tour was amazing, the line looked really REALLY long without it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour if you're looking for a brief overview of the Palace, gardens, and the history of the Palace and how it's construction tied into French history.

We arrived early at the local office and were guided to enter the gardens early. Great advice as we had a great day. Tour guide Gabriel was thoughtful and interesting with commentary throughout the palace wired to our small group.
