Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.
The entrance for the gardens is free every day from November to March and on Wednesday and Thursday from April to October.
Fountain Show Days: Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays from April to October.
Musical Fountains Days: Tuesdays and Fridays from April to October.
Please note that the Queen's Apartments are closed for renovation for 2 years.
Please note that baby strollers or baby backpack carriers are not allowed inside the Palace: they are only allowed in the gardens. You can take a baby inside the Palace only with a regular baby carrier (no metallic structure).
On the days of the Fountains Show and Musical Garden, the access to the gardens is only free for children 0-5 years old.

the information flow was too much and not helpful. the confirmation says THIS IS NOT YOUR TICKET and you must wait for SURPRISE ME to send the ticket but you must also stop at GUIDA TOUR office upon arrival in versailles. the 'actual' tickets were emailed the morning of the tour (should have been 48 hours prior) and the time was one hour later than confirmed. a text settled the timing. upon arrival, we went to the guida tour office and were advised it was an error and we didnt have to go there. the BEST thing about the tickets is you really do skip the line! even people with tickets were waiting 2 hours+ in the rain and we walked right in from the front of the line. the tour is silly and not helpful and requires headphones but there were two of us so that was stupid. we just did it on our own. so, worth it to get in, not worth it for any other info.
