Zodiac Whale Watching Adventure from Victoria

About this activity
Board an open-air zodiac-style vessel at the Victoria harbor and settle in for your 3-hour whale-watching cruise. These boats are equipped with bright yellow inflatable collars and a stable design that cushions your ride and guarantees maximum buoyancy even if the sea conditions are rough. These specially powered boats can cover over 100 miles in one trip, maximizing the distance you can travel on your tour and the amount of time you are ultimately able to spend viewing whales and other marine wildlife.

On your 3-hour cruise, travel along the protected waters of Haro Strait and the Strait of Juan de Fuca, making stops at several points of interest. The boat will be positioned parallel to the animals, so you can enjoy fantastic photo opportunities. All the while, you will be fully entertained and educated by the industry’s best marine adventure guides.

All passengers must wear a Mustang Survival flotation suit for their entire cruise. These suits are designed to protect from cold weather and use closed-cell foam to offer flotation in the event of an emergency. There is a large inventory of flotation suits of varying size and can accommodate all ages. There are also changing facilities and lockable storage on board for your convenience.

Very well run operation from start to finish. Beautiful day on the water in a zodiac boat from which we saw lots of orcas! Despite looking funny, the suits and hats/gloves kept us quite warm. The guide was great, learned lots about the orcas. Overall a fun expeience, only wish we could have gotten a little closer to the whales, but I think the distance kept is for the safety of the whales.

On the day of our tour it was about 74 degrees, but they had us put on the flotation suits and gave us hats and gloves. After getting on the boat and heading out, it quickly cooled off we were glad for the hats and gloves. Our guide was great! We saw lots of Orca's, several Humpbacks, seals and sea lions. Going on the smaller boat compared to a larger one made the picture opportunities better. Our guide made it a point to take us way out and made sure to give us ample time to take plenty of photos. The entire trip was well worth the money spent, I highly recommend this excursion.
