Itinerary

We stroll through the picturesque forests around Göttweig Abbey and visit the largest stock of redwood trees in Austria. Here we summarize two of our tours in an extensive round. The Göttweiger Walderlebnisweg is a nature trail that enhances the path to the Göttweiger Mammutbäumen. The giant trees donate pleasant shade, especially on hot days. In the second part, winding paths lead us through a natural jewel that surrounds Göttweig Abbey. We expect a very varied nature experience and a short detour into a beautiful cultural site. The cultural and landscape image is corresponding to the Wachau and here, even off the Danube, very pronounced. After a successful round, a stop at the Schickh inn (for a good meal) is recommended.
