Hotel pick-up took us to a location where we waited for the charter bus to Bratislava. We waited with several other couples until the bus arrived and a local tour guide corralled us onto the bus. He explained that we would be met by our tour guide in Bratislava. Upon arrival, the tour guide was about 10 minutes late for the approximately 30 awaiting tourists. After arrival we began our walking tour of old town Bratislava. Unfortunately, with the size of the group and the pace of the guide, it was difficult hearing her commentary. We have taken many tours in the past where the personnel had headsets to alleviate the issues. Plus the tour guide kept up a quick pace where stopping to take photos or see specific buildings was not possible. Definitely very rushed. Tour guide took the group where to be to take either the bus or a boat back to Vienna, answered a few questions and left the group.

This was one of the worst experiences we have ever had with a trip booked with Viator. The trip is supposed to be a full day trip, lasting app 12 hrs. The first 2 hrs are for the transit from Vienna to Bratislava, including border crossing. And the next 1.5- 2 hrs are for a walking tour of the old town in Bratislava with a local guide. Rest of the time you are left on your own to do as you deem fit. Unfortunately there is not much to do, and even if there was, 6-7 hrs is too long a time to be left without a guide. Everything about this trip was disorganised, right from the time one boards the bus in Vienna (there is no guide in the bus), to the way the guide took us on the walking tour and the unclear way the final meeting point (for the catamaran back to Vienna) was advised by her. The catamaran ride was the only redeeming feature of the trip and that's why it gets a 2 star rating from me. Viator would do well to drop this trip from its offerings lest it starts affecting their reputation.

Place is lovely to visit, tour was a bit disappointing, we got in the bus, guide checked us off and left. New guide met us at Bratislava took us for almost 2 hours around the old town and saw only a few sights before being left for 6.5hours until the last jetcat Trip home and was out in back of jetcat with no view. Tour not worth the cost better to do your own trip, cheaper and very easy to do from vienna.

The tour lacked application and was unfriendly. A 2 hour walking trip of city Centre and then everyone is left for 6 hours on their own. That’s terrible. The local guide lacked information on city’s history. Visits to any city landmark had to be paid extra. That’s insane !! If so much money has been charged atleast a guided tour of the castle n cathedral should have been included. Why should that be on own and pay extra EUR 12 per person for each entry!! The tour needs to be improved considerably and needs more engagement . Wouldn’t recommend to anyone .

I have always had excellent trips from Viator in multiple countries on 3 different continents but I'm afraid this one has let the side down. I specifically booked this trip for the hotel pick up as the Get Your Guide trip, which was cheaper, did not include this . However, I was told by the organiser that hotel pick up was not available with my hotel, even though it was advertised when booked. I then asked if there any other hotels near by that I could go to for a pick up and was told that there was no option for that either. I therefore had to walk 35 minutes to the pick up point. The tour itself was OK, the bus takes just over an hour to get to Bratislava and you are met by your guide who provides tickets for the boat trip back. The guided trip round the old town was informative and reasonably well paced. There was some volume issues with the guide so you did have to stand close to her to hear everything which wasn't always easy given the size of the group. After 2 hours you then get 7 hours free time in Bratislava which is probably a bit much as many things close at 5 and I was quite tired from my early start by then. Boat trip back along the Danube was interesting although I have no idea why you have to remain seated for the last 20 minutes which isn't great if you have a central seat on the boat. Overall, an ok trip but Viator has let itself down by partnering with a company that advertises non existent hotel pick ups.

Take this tour but do a bit of planning for your 6+ hours of solo time. The castle is a great start plus there are some churches to visit but depending on the day/time they could be closed. Plenty of good restaurants in the old town area. You shouldn't have trouble finding English speaking staff and menus. The boat ride on the Danube back to Vienna was awesome.

A day trip from Vienna to Bratislava, Slovakia is very easy. The tour company picked us up at our hotel ( prearranged), and dropped us at the starting point. The bus was comfortable with AC. Bratislava is a typical old European city. Our guide took us around the Old Town, and then we were on our own. It was very hot the day we went, so we ended up going back earlier than the end of the tour. This requires purchasing a new ticket at your own cost. They were not exchangeable. Other than that we enjoyed our visit.

It poured all tour but we still enjoyed our day there. Six hours free time is a bit much, but the guide told us how to get an earlier catamaran back. A good day, may need to re visit in the sun!!

We started the day by being picked up at the City Opera house bus bus and transported to Bratislava from there a guide gave us a short walking tour. Everyone was offered a bus tour for an additional 9 euros. That was well worth the money. After we had several hours to sightsee and have lunch. Then we to the boat ride back to Vienna maybe the most fun. We were dropped off near the city center close to a U Bahn station.

This was a good tour of the town with a look at its history. It was nice to be on the Danube boat to return.
