Stop At: Wachau Cultural Landscape, Krems an der Donau Austria

On this hiking tour, we will discover the beauties and gems of the Wachau region - charming little towns and amazing landscapes. We will wander through the historical districts of the cities of Stein and Duernstein - gothic, renaissance and baroque ensembles delight our eyes.

Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Burgruine Duernstein, Ruinenweg, Durnstein 3601 Austria

Following antique panoramic wine trails, we will finally reach the medieval village of Dürnstein with its famous castle ruins, where Richard Lionheart was kept in prison centuries ago.

Here we will have the chance to visit a traditional wine tavern and try some local wine and food (optional) before heading back to Stein and further on to Vienna.

Walking time will be approx. 3 hours, depending on individual speed level, including visiting the castle ruins and the village of Duernstein. For this hike, you should have an average fitness level.

Driving time from/to Vienna is approx. 2 hours back and forth.
