Stop At: Nam Ngum Dam, Thalat Laos
During this tour, you will get to explore nature while traveling by boat in the Nam Ngum Reservoir. You will have the opportunity to visit many local villages and the ruins of a historical site. This tour is filled with excitement, but the pace of the tour is very calm and relaxed.
In the morning, you will leave Vientianne by car and travel on the road No 13 until you arrive at the Nam Ngum Reservoir. Before you reach the Reservoir, you will stop at the Hmong Village to meet the locals and visit their Market. After your time in the village, you will visit the Archaeological Site of Vang Xang. This site was built between the 8th and 11th centuries by the Hmong-Khmer Empire.
You arrive at the Reservoir at lunch time and will be served lunch at a boat restaurant on the lake. Once lunch is completed, you will embark on a boat ride to visit the fishing villages on the islands.
After the boat tour, you will travel by car back to Vientianne on road No 10. On the way, you will see a traditional salt abstraction site at Ban Keun, before continuing to the Dong Mark Khai Market. This market is where the locals gather to sell wild animals and insects.
You return to Vientiane in the late afternoon.
