Find our guide with a red umbrella in front of Vilnius City Hall and wind down the narrow Old Town streets till the first panoramic view from St.Casimirus street. Here you see Vilnius‘ green hills and Uzupis district which you gonna visit through this tour. From the Bastion of Vilnius City wall panoramic site you can count all the Old Town churches of different religions.
Then we come down, cross the creek and enter the Independent Republic of Uzupis which is settled in a district beloved by local artisans, craftsmen and Bohemia. In the beginning of the tour you have to get acquainted with a Constitution of this Republic declared in 18 different languages in public. In Uzupis district you will visit an Art Incubator, Square of Tibet, Church of Bartholomew, two monuments for the same uncrowned Duke and specific courtyards with nowadays lifestyle signs. You can admire the atmosphere of this small island‘s art galleries, cosy cafes, wooden houses and seven bridges across the creek around.
At the end of tour climb to Bekesas hill where you see all Vilnius‘ panorama: the Old town lying at the bottom, a modern style city set on the other bank of river Neris and Soviet style districts visible on the green hills. The tour will finishes nearby Gothic St.Ann‘s church and the monument to the famous Lithuanian and Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz.
