World Lithuanian Song Festival and Tour
Day 1 Arrival to Vilnius. Private transfer to the hotel. Welcome dinner.
Day 2 Kernave; open air country life museum in Rumsiskes, baroque Pazaislis church & monastery. Free afternoon in Kaunas.
Day 3 Panemune Castle Road: Renaissance Panemune castle, Stork colony & Rambynas mount. Vente‘s Horn. Short tour and overnight at Klaipeda.
Day 4 Ferry to the Curonian Spit. In Juodkrante - weatherwane gallery & Hill of Witches; in Nida - seashore sand dunes, wooden architecture, ethnographic cemetery. Trip to Klaipeda for overnight.
Day 5 Palanga resort: iconic Palanga Sea Peer, Botanic garden, Amber museum. Trip to Kaunas with en route stop at the holy site of Catholic Pilgrimage – Hill of Crosses. Song Festival celebration in Valley of Songs, Kaunas.
Day 6 Visit Kaunas IX fort, M.K. Ciurlionis and Zilinskas art museums. Kaunas Old Town: the castle, churches, Town Hall, Perkunas house. Trip to Vilnius. Opening Ceremony of the Song Festival.
Day 7 Explore Vilnius: pass by Vilnius Cathedral, Grand Duke Palace, get up to St. John’s Belltower, walk Castle street, see baroque Vilnius University and Gothic St. Ann’s church, miraculous Gates of the Dawn. Vist quirky neighbourhood of artists -Republic of Uzupis. Song Festival events to be visited independently: Opening of the Children traditional crafts town/ Opening of the Folk Arts exhibition.
Day 8 July Free time. Song Festival events: Vocal Ensembles' Evening. Paid event: 20,30 EUR/ Folklore day/ Kanklė’s concert.
Day 9 July Trakai. Visit majestic insular castle and learn about local ethnic minority – karaites. Taste traditional karaite’s dish – kybins and liqueur. Return to Vilnius. Ensemble’s Evening in Kalnai Park. Paid event, tickets:10,20,40,60 EUR. Song Festival events:Theatre day.
Day 10 Half day tour in Vilnius: KGB museum, Vilnius TV tower, St. Petras and Povilas church. Dance day event. Paid event:10-80 EUR. Song Festival events : Wind Orchestras’ concert. Paid event:10,20,30,40EUR.
Day 11 Free time. Evening event –Song day in Vingis park. Paid event:10-40 EUR.
Day 12 Transfer to the airport. Departure.
