Wieliczka Salt Mine and Schindler List tour from Warsaw

1 day
About this activity
After we collect you from your accommodation in the capital, you can lean back and relax in a modern vehicle during our journey to Krakow – the most frequently visited city in Poland by foreigners and Poles alike. You will most probably start the tour with a visit to Kazimierz, the Old Jewish Quarter, known for its original, timeless architecture embellished with synagogues, dozens of antique shops, art galleries, as well as many other signs of Jewish culture. Steven Spielberg chose this place as a scenery for his award-winning movie
Schindler’s List. On your tour around Kazimierz, you will also be guided to one of the oldest synagogues in Europe, which has been continuously active for over 500 years. You will also pay a visit to the Schindler's Factory – the place where Oskar Schindler saved over 1000 Jews. In order to commemorate those who were killed during the war, a museum of the World War II was established there. Afterwards, we will drive you to Wieliczka Salt Mine inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List and known for its unparalleled giant sculptures, caves, chapels, and lakes. Wieliczka Salt Mine chambers refer to particular bygone events and characters, thus, it is also an ideal place to learn a little bit of Polish history. Last but not least, thanks to its salty brine air, the salt mine can be very advantageous for your health.
