About this activity
This 'Monuments and Memorials Sunset Bike Tour' begins at 502 23rd Street NW in Washington, DC. The guided tour is unique and completely different from the daytime tours, getting closer to the Jefferson Memorial and Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorials.

Meet and greet the tour guide and the rest of the group, then gear up for the ride with a comfortable helmet and bike.

Travel through the National Mall, visiting some of its best memorial parks. See the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial, and many more — all under the light of a gorgeous sunset.

The tour ends where it began at 502 23rd Street NW.

Nowhere online does it state that, as our tour guide noted prior to leaving, “people in DC drive crazy, I have gotten my back bumper tapped, people swearing at me and cutting me off. This is also not the best time to be biking...Really? Then don’t have that tour option. It was my family and another family (that we didn't know, with 4 younger kids). My 13 year old daughter was almost in tears after hearing the above comments and honestly I didn’t feel safe either. We left saying we had too busy of a schedule because we didn’t want to scare the other family but we had no plans the rest of that day/evening. Beyond disappointed since we also got there over 1/2 hour early, saw the helmets being sprayed/sanitized by only spraying over the piles (which then my husband lost it and said the place was dirty and he was passing on the ride). We weren’t even given the details until after 5:30 (delaying the ride, when we should have been leaving at 5:30 - the tour clearly stated to be there in advance). Then once we were all on our bikes finally at 5:45, then the guide started sharing the details noted above. And to top that, the bikes didn't all have safety lights. Beyond disappointed when we were so looking forward to the sunset tour.

Great way to see the Memorials and DC! Tour guide was terrific! I’d highly recommend this to others.
