Stop At: White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, Washington DC, DC 20500

We explore the President's Neighbor to get a good look at the White House, the White House grounds and to imagine, with help from our historical figure guide, the changes that have gone on in and around it since 1800. But, due to security precautions we cannot go into the White House itself or onto the White House grounds.

Duration: 1 hour 10 minutes

Stop At: Pickle Pea Walks, 740 Jackson Pl NW, Washington DC, DC 20006-4911

Please meet Quentin Roosevelt by the steps of the Renwick Gallery of Art at the corner of 17th Street, NW and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW across from the North Front of the White House. When everyone has gathered, Quentin will take you on a stroll through the neighborhood where he and the White House Gang used to play. The tour was great! Quentin--the youngest son of Teddy Roosevelt--was excellent. He handled our small group with grace, humor and wit. It was wonderful to have a first family come alive through his stories and observations. Excellent in every way! I would recommend this walk and any others produced by Pickle Pea Walks. And encourage people traveling with kids to check out Children's Concierge a great way to find learning actives while traveling with young people. Our 13 year old loved it, too. We are two grateful Grandmoms! Thank you! Bev and Caroline
