Visit: Capital One Arena, 601 F St NW, Washington DC, DC 20004-1605
The Washington Wizards, Washington D.C.’s resident NBA team are a part of the Southeast Division of NBA’s Eastern Conference and play in downtown D.C.’s Capital One Arena. One of their greatest successes came from their one championship during the 1977-1978 season, when their roster featured the incredible players Wes Unseld and Elvin Hayes. On top of their NBA championship, the Wizards have had a total of 28 playoff appearances, four conference titles, and seven division titles. The team’s best season came in 1975 with a record of 60-22. Since then, the Wizards have been defined by three eras: the first being in 2001 when Michael Jordan came out of retirement and joined the team for his last three seasons. Following, Gilbert Arenas joined the team and became an instant superstar after bringing the Wizards back to the playoffs. Most recent, the signing of point guard John Wall in 2010 made the Wizards a major championship contender in the East. Be sure to see the Wizards live and in action for an unforgettable experience!
