Join the locals: Walk and Talk dealer Art Gallery in Wellington

A fabulous way to get to top dealer galleries, public art and the best of the public galleries in Wellington.

Juxtaposed perfectly with the work Mark Mary has done for the Dominion Post and currently does for The Big Idea Te Aria Nui, weekly review of the arts, the fortnightly Walk & Talk the art galleries takes us to different clusters of galleries in Wellington.

Mary Jane ran her own gallery in Wellington for many years. She has written and published extensively on the arts. Mary Jane has recently returned to Wellington and among other things is taking a creative writing course.

Wellington has several concentrations of fine contemporary dealer galleries, with ever changing exhibitions of emerging, mid-career and established artists. Each fortnight we walk a different cluster of galleries. We are introduced to the gallery, gallerist, the exhibition and sometimes we are lucky to get to talk with an artist. We get all the extras of being with a guide the gallerists know and respect. Returning several weeks later we find new exhibitions and therefore new experiences..

We always find a good place for coffee and more talking.
