This adventures includes:
- A high quality rental bike with helmet, hi-vis and lock
- A map and route information
- Tea and home baked scones on arrival or for your picnic
- Children's bikes and child's trailers are available on request
- Pick up and transport is available on request at extra cost
_______________________________________________________
Start your cycle at the Ballina Quay, a discovery point on the Wild Atlantic Way and follow the River Moy up through the town of Ballina, as you watch the salmon leap, continue on through Belleek woods and watch out for the red squirrels. You might be tempted to stop off at the Connacht Whiskey Company and take a tour to discover the art of whiskey making. After passing through the beautiful Belleek woods, take a right onto a country road and after 4km you will see a sign for Rosserk Abbey. It’s a 400 metre cycle down and is certainly worth it to explore the Franciscan monks way of life. It’s then onto the historic port village of Killala where you can learn more about General Humbert and the French Invasion of Ireland. You have now completed 17km and you can choose to cycle back or continue onto Downpatrick head to explore north Mayo's dramatic coastline. A nice option for lunch on route is Mary’s cottage in Ballycastle if you continue your cycle further or Jack Fenn’s at Belleek castle after the highly recommended guided Tour of Belleek Castle & The Marshall Doran Collection.
