Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVE WHITEHORSE

Pass By: S.S. Klondike, Whitehorse, Yukon, Whitehorse, Yukon Canada
Transfer to your hotel located in the heart of the city, not far from the banks of the Yukon River. Whitehorse is small and easy to explore on foot or by vehicle. Visit the SS Klondike National Historic Site; among the last of the great paddle wheelers that plied the Yukon River system until the 1950’s, the Old Log Church; the oldest building in Whitehorse, the unique Log Cabin Skyscraper; a three story tower made completely out of logs. Learn about the Yukon’s history at the MacBride Museum of the Yukon, experience pre-historic history at the Yukon Beringia Interpretative Centre and stop in at the unique Yukon Transportation Museum located nearby. And when you’ve seen all these top sites, Main Street is perfect for strolling and shopping with its shops galleries and café’s. One of the most sought-after Northern experiences, a Yukon vacation is only complete with viewing the Midnight Sun or the Aurora Borealis cascading across the Yukon night sky (depending on the season).

Day 2: WHITEHORSE - DAWSON CITY

Stop At: Diamond Tooth Gerties Gambling Hall, Queen and Fourth Ave, Dawson City, Yukon Y0B 1G0 Canada
Today we start our adventure in Whitehorse and travel on the North Klondike Highway towards the Northwest, the historic Dawson City. Our first stop is at Braeburn Lodge where you can try their famous Cinnamon Buns. Old post offices, roadhouses, small villages and great viewpoints along the Highway constantly bring back to mind the gold rush era 100 years ago. After a relaxed dinner we pick you up from your hotel for our evening program and visit Diamond Tooth Gerties Gambling Hall with poker game and Cancan-Dance-Girls.

Day 3: DAWSON CITY

Stop At: Dredge No. 4, Bonanza Creek Road Upper, Dawson City, Yukon Y0B 1G0 Canada
After breakfast, we discover Dawson City. A visit to the Jack London and Robert Service cabins and the museum are on the program. A highlight is the drive into the Bonanza and Eldorado Creeks where we visit the historic Dredge #4 and an active gold mine. You have the chance to try your luck panning for gold in the Klondike. In the late afternoon we travel up the Midnight Dome Road for fantastic views of Dawson City and the Yukon River. After a true northern dinner you have the time to explore the city yourself by foot.

Day 4: DEMPSTER HIGHWAY / TOMBSTONE MOUNTAINS

Stop At: Tombstone Territorial Park, Dawson City, Yukon Canada
After getting up early we drive up the Dempster Highway which is 730 km long and is the only year-round road connection to the Arctic Sea. After a short visit at the Tombstone Visitor Center we are ready to start our hike at the foot of the Tombstone Mountains; this will lead us into the tundra of this mountain range, where every season has its unique attraction. From the top of the trail, hikers have an exceptional 360 degree panoramic view of the surrounding landscape, including Discovery Ridge, North Fork Pass, and Fold Mountain.

Day 5: DAWSON CITY - WHITEHORSE

Stop At: Five Finger Rapids, Klondike Highway, Yukon Canada
Today, after a hearty breakfast we travel back to Whitehorse via the Klondike Highway. You will repeatedly see the mighty Yukon River, about 3200 km long and thus one of the longest waterways in North America. Of course there is a stop to visit the infamous Five Finger Rapids - mighty rapids posing a threat to many sternwheelers navigating the Yukon in the past. Time to relax and have dinner in Whitehorse.

Day 6: DEPARTURE

Pass By: Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre, 1171 Front St, Whitehorse, Yukon Y1A 0G9 Canada
