This 2 Night, 3 Day Beatrix Potter tour begins at the charming 4-star Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel, that used to be owned by the beloved children's author Beatrix Potter. The hotel's logo is actually in her handwriting.
On arrival, enjoy a cream tea at Lindeth Howe and then spend the rest of the day as you wish. Enjoy the views from the gardens, stretch your legs along nearby Lake Windermere or explore Bowness, and then relax over dinner at the hotel tonight. You'll have a ticket to use at your leisure for the World of Beatrix Potter attraction.
On Day 2 you will join the 1/2 day Beatrix Potter's Favourite Countryside Tour including entry to Hill Top Farm (please note Hill Top is closed every Friday). This tour is ideal for fans of Miss Potter, taking in some great locations in a scenic afternoon.
After departure you will make your way to Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top Farm, where she wrote many of her famous children’s stories in this 17th century cottage. You will have the opportunity to go into the house, explore the garden and visit the shop.
Continuing onto the medieval village of Hawkshead, you will have a little time to explore its many delightful features. There is plenty of photo opportunities as William Wordsworth old Grammar School is located here.
Onwards then, to the renowned beauty spot of Tarn Hows, which is one of the most photographed locations in the Lake District. Soak up the stunning views looking towards the mountains at Tarn Hows. Join a Windermere Lake Cruise from Ambleside to Bowness before making your way back to Lindeth Howe and enjoy your evening.
On Day 3, your experience ends after breakfast this morning when you check out of the hotel. If you wish, enjoy an included minivan transfer to Windermere railway station or back to your original starting point.
