A rather disappointing experience. The description in the “what to expect” is not exactly accurate: “take your private vehicle to Dong Han Village (about 1 hour driving time) - TRUE, “Upon arrival, wander in village see the local artists' works like farmers’ paintings or wheat straw artist works” - TRUE, BUT “learn paper-cut skills or play Majiong with neighbors” - THAT DIDN’T HAPPEN AND WAS NOT OFFERED. “A home-made organic dinner is served by the host and hostess and you will enjoy the dinner with them” - TRUE AND THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS BUT THE HOST AND HOSTESS DID NOT JOIN DINNER, ONLY THE TOUR GUIDE AND DRIVER. “Joining an evening dance exercise with natives in the village center square” - YES BUT IT IS NOT ANY SPECIFIC NATIVE VILLAGE DANCE, IT WAS THE VERY POPULAR NATIONWIDE PLAZA DANCE WHICH YOU WILL FIND IN A LOT OF THE BIG PLAZA OR PARKS AT NIGHT IN THE CITIES. “Overnight accommodation with the village host family - your room is at second floor - TRUE, BUT “with clean private bathroom” - DEFINITELY NOT TRUE - IT WAS DIRTY AND SHARED WITH THE DRIVER AND TOUR GUIDE. “Explore the local village and the farm in the morning” - SORRY, DID NOT VISIT ANY FARM AND THERE WASN’T ANYTHING ELSE TO EXPLORE IN THE LOCAL VILLAGE. I have expressed the same to the organizer after the tour when they asked for a review, they explained that this tour is to demonstrate village reform after 1978 and it is not the rural countryside village of old China. And because of the modern machine farming which requires much less labour force, all the young people have left the village for work in the city. No wonder the village was eerily quiet. The cover picture shows a farmer harvesting the crops is something I can’t find during the trip. The organizer explained that this is not the harvest seasons. I would strongly suggest for the organizer to update the description and the cover picture for the tour. BTW, the tour guide (May) and the driver were very pleasant and polite. May was very informative and chatty. She made this rather disappointing experience much easier to endure.
