Stop At: The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, Xi'an, Shaanxi

Meet your guide and driver at the lobby of your hotel in Xian city centre to start this tour. Your English-speaking guide is an experience Chinese tour-guide in Xian with an extensive knowledge of the history and heritage of the city. You will drive with him outside the city to the Museum of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses. This archeological excavation is one of the most significant of the 20th century. It was discovered by local farmers in 1974 and now is one of the most visited museums in the world. Your guide will show and explain first the largest pit, where life size terracotta figures with unique faces of warriors and horses are arranged in battle formations. These are replicas of what Qin Shi Huang’s imperial army would have look like in 210-209 BC. This army was built in order to protect the emperor in the afterlife. Then you will see other figures at the Museum ranging from military personnel to horses. After this visit you will head to a traditional Qin Dynasty restaurant, where you will try local dishes that imitate Qin Dynasty style meals. Your guide will help you to understand the dishes and learn the etiquette of the Qin Dynasty. When you finish your meal, you will have the opportunity to try Qin dynasty costumes and snap some pictures.

Stop At: Daming Palace Site Park, Xi'an, Shaanxi

When you finish your lunch, you will head to Daming Palace National Heritage Park, which was the main royal palace of the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907) where Tang emperors lived. Your guide will explain the history and significance of this palace before guiding you to visit the Porcelain Museum. There you will be greeted by the Director and curator of the Daming Palace, who will take out some collections of their exhibited relics for you and explain the stories behind these ancient objects. Once this visit is finished, you will be driven back to your hotel in Xian city center and continue exploring the city on your own.
