Itinerary

Day 1: YANGON

Stop At: Yangon Yangon, 339 Bogyoke Aung San Road Sakura Tower Rooftop, Yangon (Rangoon) Myanmar
When you arrive at the Yangon International Airport, our Green Wood Tourism Myanmar Travel Guide will greet you and take you to your hotel. Your sightseeing discoveries begin with Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda’s 70m (230 foot) long reclining Buddha. Kandawgyi Park is one of central Yangon’s greenest spots. See the glittering Karaweil barge. Shwedagon Pagoda is a famous landmark in Myanmar and one of the greatest wonders of the world. Enjoy sunset views of the golden stupa from this vantage point. Enjoy a delicious dinner this evening at a local restaurant and transfer to the express bus station to Bagan. (Estimated departure time 8:00pm).

Day 2: YANGON-BAGAN (By express bus)

Stop At: Bagan Temples, Bagan Archaeological Zone, Bagan Myanmar
Upon early morning arrival to Bagan, transfer to your hotel for a quick freshen-up and start your sightseeing day with the busy NyaungOo local market. The journey continues with a visit to religious monuments all over the surrounding plains. Start your archaeological tour with a diverse selection of the most famous Pagodas and Temples, such as:

• Shwezigon Pagoda, a prototype of Burmese stupas;
• Ananda Temple built in 1105 AD during the reign of King Kyanzittha of the Pagan Dynasty;
• That ByinNyu Temple built in 1144 A.D by King Alaungsithu;
• DhammayanGyi Temple built in late 12th century by King Narathu;
• GubyaukGyi (Myinkaba) Pagoda, a Buddhist temple built by Prince Yazakumar shortly after the death of his father, King Kyansittha of the Bagan Dynasty.

Afterwards go on to Shwesandaw Stupa, which contains a series of 5 terraces, topped with a cylindrical stupa to watch a glorious sunset. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 3: BAGAN-MT.POPA-BAGAN (By private car and express bus)

Stop At: Mount Popa, Kyauk Padaung Road, Popa Myanmar
After breakfast at your hotel, it’s time for another Classic Myanmar Adventure excursion to Mount Popa. There you can learn about the legends of Nats that represent a heritage of earlier animist religions in the Burmese countryside, approximately a 90 minute drive outside of the city.

Once you arrive, 777 steps lead the way to Mount Popa as you pass by real monkeys along the steps. From the top of PopaTaungKalat enjoy an incredible panoramic view. The surrounding areas are arid, but the Mt.Popa area has over 200 springs and streams. This is the oasis in the desert-like dry central zone of Myanmar. On the way back to Bagan, see the daily life of local people as they live among the palm trees with a series of sightseeing stops along the way. Peek in on the process of traditional lacquer-ware, one of Myanmar’s best-known handicrafts and a specialty of Bagan. In the evening, transfer to the express bus station to go to Yangon. (Estimated departure time 8:00pm) Overnight on the Express Bus.

Day 4: DEPART YANGON - half day tour and departure

Stop At: Yangon Yangon, 339 Bogyoke Aung San Road Sakura Tower Rooftop, Yangon (Rangoon) Myanmar
Upon early morning arrival, you will be picked up from the bus station by your Myanmar Travel Guide so you can check into your hotel for a short rest. After breakfast at the hotel, your sightseeing adventure starts from Sule Pagoda in the middle of downtown, up strand road and then heading to Bogyoke Market, formerly known as Scott’s Market. This is the largest market in Yangon, absolutely stuffed with hundreds of handicrafts, gemstones, art, food and clothes stores. (Note: The market is closed on Mondays and public holidays). After lunch time, be at your leisure to rest or pursue individual interests until it is time to go to the airport for your international flight.
