Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, Kin Pun Myanmar

You'll be picked up from your hotel and set off to Kyaikhtiyo on road, a small Pagoda insignificant in size (only 7 meters) but unique for its position. The rock is completely covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of the cliff. It looks as if it's just about to roll down the hill at any minute. The Golden Rock Pagoda is situated at 1,100 m above sea level (3,600 ft.). It's one of the most important temples in Myanmar and it's visited by hundreds of pilgrims daily. Upon arrival at the base camp “Kimpun”, leave your private vehicles and transfer to transit junction “Rathe Taung” by public open truck (about 10km/ approx. 45 min). It is quite an adventurous ride – some parts are pretty steep with multiple hairpin bends. It can be a challenge for the faint-hearted! On arrival in Rathe Taung camp (half-way camp), take the cable car for the last 5 km to the top of Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda. Alternately, you can opt to hike on foot for this last leg (about 45 minutes). You’ll enjoy stunning mountain scenery and the chance to chat with fellow climbers. All the tiredness and discomfort along the way disappears once you reach the top since a spectacular view awaits there. It is said that on a clear day one can see the ANDAMAN SEA glistening in the distance. It is time to marvel the Golden Rock Pagoda which is precarious balancing on the edge of the cliff. It seems to defy the gravity for thousands of years due to the holy hair of the Buddha being enshrined in this huge rock. After spending about 2 hrs to visit the whole site, together with the settlement around, we'll take the truck down (last truck runs at 6 pm) to the base camp “Kimpun”. Meet your driver and return to Yangon. to complete this awesome day trip.
