Mt Merapi at Sunrise and Jomblang Cave by Jeep from Yogyakarta

Starting early morning at 4:30am you will be picked up at your accommodation in Yogyakarta and driven to base camp at Merapi Volcano where your vehicle will change to a jeep to explore the volcano.

You will stop at a point where you can see the sunrise, June to September is the best time to visit. Afterwards, you will continue and make stops at the historical sites; the bunker, a damaged house caused by the eruption, a monster rock and other interesting areas where you can take nice pictures with a beautiful background of Merapi Volcano.

After you finish the lava tour you will head to Jomblang cave which is a 2-hour drive. This phenomenal vertical cave is a great place to explore with its unique characteristics which you won't find anywhere else. Before entering the cave you will be given instructions and will be set up with safety equipment to rappel down the cave. Explore and spend 2-hours in the cave and experience what they call 'a light from the heaven'.

Upon heading back to the surface you can take a fresh shower and break before heading back to Yogyakarta.
