About this activity

A midnight trek on Mount Merapi is an experience not to be missed while you are in Yogyakarta! You will hike up the Volcano from Selo village walking pass through dense vegetation to the summit. Get ready to be awed by the great view of sunrise from the highest peak as the land spread out below you for miles around. You will fall in love with the nature by the Merapi’s landscape. You could see Mount Sundoro, Sumbing, Lawu and Merbabu at the top of the Volcano. An experienced guide will escort you along this journey. A vehicle will be waiting for you in Selo to drive you back to Yogyakarta in the afternoon when your tour is done.

Itinerary:

10.15 PM: Pick up from your hotel in Yogyakarta area to go Selo Village

12.30 AM: Arrive in Selo Village at climber basecamp with hot coffee/tea welcomes you

1.00 AM: Start amazing trekking activities to the Mount Merapi

4.45 AM: Waiting for Sunrise on peak

6.00 AM: Descend to basecamp

9.00 AM: Get to basecamp and prepare back to Yogyakarta.

2.00 PM: Arrive to your hotel in Yogyakarta
