Chris, our tour guide was very knowledgeable. It was a very small group, our family of 4 and another family of 3, so it was like a personal tour. The towns we visited were beautiful, could have spent days in them, and the drive, countryside, and moors were breathtaking. It was an all day tour, but could be even longer As there was so much to see.

I did this trip at the start if the summer holidays. It was a busy day. Enjoyed the stop at Whitby and could of stayed there longer. The steam train was also good and just the right amount of time. Lots of great views of Yorkshire from the mini bus and train as well as walking around at the stops. Great day out.

Someone recommended that I take a day trip to Whitby and when I was looking to get there by public transit was not going to be possible in the time that I had So when I stumbled on this tour I booked. Am I ever glad that I did! There was a small group of us [just 8] so our tour guide Matt was able to keep track of us all very easily. We had a great day stopping in Helmsley for about 45 minutes just long enough to wander through this beautiful little market town then we went on to Whitby arriving a little earlier than normal which was great for us so we had almost a full three hours there. Matt and our bus driver [Brian I believe] drove us through Whitby and pointing out various points of interest and then they drove us right up to the Abbey so we did not have to walk up the steps. The Abbey, a ruin, is beautiful and the views from the top of the harbour and the town and out to the sea are stunning. Whitby it’s self is beautiful as well. So after spending some time at the Abbey I wander down the 190 or so odd steps and walk through old cobblestone streets twisty Windee and I bought myself the pre-requisite fish and chip lunch, and sat out in the harbour watching people come and go. When we left Whitby we went to Goathland Where we caught the steam train to Peterborough. Our bus met us there and we wandered back to York. We did take a small side trip to another Abbey which I unfortunately can’t recall the name. A beautiful little ruin right on the edge of a river. We were delivered back to Wiard drop off point in the shadow of York minster. All in all a fantastic day and Matt regaled us with tidbits of history and lore. If you are considering taking this trip, then do it!

We had Chris as our guide. He grewup in the area and had lots of facts and stories to add to the trip. The moors heater was not in bloom, but Chris knew all the small local roads and villagaes, Whitby is a beautiful city, the sea port was busy and lovely. Dracula's Whitby Abbey is outsting. Chris made sure we got a ride on the Steam train from Goatland to Pickering. All in all it was a great day our. Do get some fish and chips in Whitby.

Lovely day trip. The only thing disappointing was we didn't have much time in Aidensfield. we would have liked to look around there a bit more and bought a few more things. Really enjoyed Whitby!

Peter was knowledgeable and funny. The entire experience was great. I especially love that we get free time to choose our activities at each different location. I am a solo traveler and appreciate the freedom these tours provide. Highly recommended tour.

This was a great tour, mainly because our driver, Chris, really knew a lot about the area and his commentary was very entertaining and also informative. As the weather was inclement he gave us an option instead of staying in Whitby which was appreciated by some in our group. We would recommend this tour to anywone who is in York for long enough to sacrifice a day.
