About this activity
This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine.
Meet your host Ana at her welcoming two-story home on the island of Preko. Enjoy a coffee while Ana introduces you to her home before walking steps to the local beach. There you will take her friend's small motorboat to collect the nets for your shellfish catch (and hope for a good haul!). Head back to Ana's home to clean and wash your catch while you learn more about the seafood native to Preko. You will enjoy a small "marenda", a traditional small morning snack, before you take a short break to go down to the local beach for a swim to beat the morning heat of summer. Then return to Ana's home to prepare your lunch of freshly collected shellfish and a few other traditional Croatian dishes. Please note this experience is seasonally available during the summer months. Also note that your shellfish catch cannot be guaranteed; if you don't bring in any shellfish from the nets you will pick up your fish from a local vendor nearby.
Sit outside on Ana's terrace or indoors at her welcoming dining table and enjoy a meal of freshly caught seafood and other traditional Croatian dishes. Ana's mother or other family members might also be present for your experience to give you a true insight into a local family life.
