About this activity
Start of the tour in the morning from Zadar. After one hour of driving along the beautiful costline 5 minutes of break on Šibenik bridge - perfect view point on Šibenik area.

Arrival in Šibenik 15 minutes after the break.

Starting the walking tour where you will meet all secret stories of this beautiful old town. Šibenik, the oldest native Croatian city on the Adriatic, is located in the most protected natural harbour, in the centre of the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea, at the mouth of the beautiful Krka River, at the sources of Croatia’s rich history. This town was founded by the Croats in the 12 century. The harbor, which is connected to the open sea by the St. Anthony Strait, has been an initiator of marittime affairs development, trading and the overall economic prosperity of the town for centuries. At the entrance into the Strait is the fortress of St. Nicholas, the most important renaissance fortress on the eastern coast of the Adriatic.

Together with the fortresses of St. Michael, St. John and Šubićevac surrounding the town, it is a symbol of the centuries old continuous resistence of Šibenik, as confirmed in the recent Croatian War of Independence.

Šibenik's St. James’ Cathedral, built over more than a century, is testimony to the persistency, sacrifice and belief of generations of Šibenik inhabitants. It is also the most important architectural monument of the Renaissance in the entire country. Since 2000, the Cathedral has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is unique for many things not only as far as Croatian architecture is concerned, but European architecture too: it is built entirely of stone. The 14th century St. Francis Church and Monastery of the first Croatian national Shrine, has been an important ecclesiastical and cultural centre for centuries. You discover small tipical mediterenian sreets and houses, churches. Town is quite small but has lot of secret places.

After discovering Šibenik old town and some time of leasure in town it is time for Dalamtian food.

You drive for about 20 minutes to Šibenik countyside on rural estate. You will be able to relax in the shade of the olive trees, try the culinary delights that only one such tavern can produce and certainly will not be disappointed. There you choose what kind of menu what you like and taste great wine that is produced on this estate.

The estate consists of pig farms, three stone buildings in which there is pršut drying area, a place for the processing of dried meat products, kitchen, open fire place and of course a tavern.
