Day 1: Zanzibar

Off to Zanzibar
If travelling from Tanzania, our Signature representative will drop you off at Arusha airport for the flight to the Island, with transfer on arrival to your hotel, The Tembo Hotel, for dinner and overnight. Set upon the beach in the environs of the famed Stone Town, The Tembo will ensure your every comfort with beautiful wooden furnishings and a roomy four poster bed. A little historical background for you: when the Portuguese arrived in 1498, they found on the coast a series of independent towns, inhabited by Arabs, but not united to Arabia politically. Their relations with these Arabs were mostly hostile, but during the sixteenth century they firmly established their power, and ruled with the aid of tributary Arab sultans. This system lasted till 1631, when the Sultan of Mombasa massacred the European inhabitants.

Day 2: Zanzibar

Stone Town is the old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar and little has changed in the last 200 years. It is a place of winding alleys, bustling bazaars, mosques and grand Arab houses. Stone Town has brought together many different elements of the cultures of Africa, the Arab region, India, and Europe over more than a thousand years. You can spend endless hours just wandering through the fascinating labyrinth of narrow streets and alleyways, absorbing the years of history. We have designed a special spice tour which will edify you about the spices here famed, as well as the organically grown herbs, with details about their traditional uses in medicine cosmetics and cooking. After this educational tour, we have a sumptuous lunch at our guides’ home, where you can taste the spices and fruits. We will pass by Jozani Forest, the last habitat of the rare endemic Red Colobus Monkey. With a local guide, you stroll through Jozani Chwaka National Park and look at the rare monkeys. You also have the option to wander down the boardwalk to the fascinating Mangrove Ecosystem. With all of these ventures enjoyed we head for the North of the Island to The Langi Langi Beach Hotel where dinner and relaxation await us with the soothing sound of the Indian ocean under a starry sky.

Awake to a truly stunning beach vista here at the North of the Island. Azure waters and white sands reward our senses with beauty. There are plenty of places to get our among the people in the evenings for a drink or two or simply enjoy the peace at our carefully selected hotel where aesthetic surrounds can ease your body, spirit, and mind. We one once more at the Langi Langi Beach Hotel, and enjoy our nights rest here once more.

Day 4: Zanzibar Beach Holiday

We spend this day after our breakfast at the hotel in relaxation once more. There are plenty of activities pursue for those of an energetic disposition or the pleasure of a book and a swim by the beach for those who prefer meditation and relaxation. Zanzibar,the majestic spice island of the Indian Ocean. These are two main islands of Unguja and Pemba. Over the centuries different cultures have influenced Zanzibar leading it to become what it is today. Sumerians, Assyrians, Egyptians, Phonecians, Indians, Chinese, Persians, Portuguse, Omani Arabs, Dutch, and British, have settled here at one time or another and influenced the local culture into the present fusion. Zanzibar has seen it all!. We dine and rest at the Langi Langi once more, on this our last evening in paradise.

Day 5: Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam

Breakfast at the hotel and relax once packed by the beach soaking up the sights and sounds of this fascinating and beautiful location. We will collect you in the afternoon, after lunch, for transfer to the airport for the flight to Dar es Salam where you will connect with your international flight to onward adventure in life!
