Itinerary

Pass By: Schluchsee, 79859 Schluchsee, Baden-Wurttemberg Germany

Meet your guide in central Zurich and then hop aboard your luxury coach for the journey north to the Black Forest in southern Germany. The journey lasts just over 1.5 hours, so sit back and relax, taking in the postcard-perfect scenery; as Lake Schluchsee drops from your view, the lush green hills and woods of the Black Forest take center stage.

Stop At: Lake Titisee, Titisee-Neustadt, Baden-Wurttemberg Germany

Stop for roughly two hours in the town of Titisee-Neustadt on the edge of Lake Titisee – an area that’s known for being the heart of the Black Forest. One of the area’s famous exports is German cuckoo clocks, so head inside Drubba – a prestigious clock producer – to see how these traditional clocks are made.

Then, spend the rest of your time in the town at leisure; stroll around Lake Titisee independently, enjoy a boat ride or perhaps visit a café to sample the region’s legendary Black Forest Gateau (activities and food at your own expense). The rich cake -- also known as Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte -- is constructed as a chocolate cake, layered with cherries, whipped cream and lashings of cherry brandy.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Lenzkirch Höhe, Schliechtstraße 24A, 79853 Lenzkirch, Germany

Meet your guide and travel south through the impressive spruce forests of Lenzkirch, working your way back into Switzerland.

Stop At: Rhine Falls, Rheinfallquai, Neuhausen am Rheinfall 8212 Switzerland

Head into the Upper Rhine region to stop at Rhine Falls – Europe’s largest waterfalls – and enjoy a break of roughly 45 minutes. Gaze at the water as it crashes down a drop of 75 feet (23 meters), pose for photos, and stroll around admiring the scenery

Duration: 45 minutes

Our trip to Black Forest and Rhine Falls through Viator was an amazing experience. The Driver and Guide were very nice people. An excellent one day trip from Zürich. Highly recommended.

Rhine falls was very nice. as far as black forest goes, if one is really interested in buying a cukoo clock, which by itself is a master piece, one must go there. the journey via Germany is also nice. The guide were very cooperative

Our guide was great at getting photos of all of us at the falls. The boat went around a couple of times to make sure everyone had a shot. It was a great experience! The little town was also great, wish we'd had some more time there. Wish i'd known the schedule ahead of time, so i would've packed a lunch and not had to spend so much of our time sitting down to lunch. Also, i wish there was a short stop for a photo op near the dense trees, as that is what we are all there to see

This was the first trip I booked with viator and I was a bit doubtful how the tour will go. But it was really nice trip as the travel organizer viator assigned was really good. Sufficient time was provided in black forest and Rhine falls. Tour guide also provided us other informations which was good. for others also I would recommend this trip if you are in Zurich and looking or a day trip. Trip organizer was Gray Line Zurich.

The tour of the clocks being made is just a demonstration in a souvenir shop that has a sales associate showing clocks in different stages of creation. Informative, but not the 'demonstration' I was expecting. All there really is to do here is hit the souvenir shops. Have Euros, as they don't take Swiss francs. Disappointment of a day - just a tourist trap.

I know some other reviews had nothing good to say about this tour but I feel they were expecting too much from a 7 hour tour. If you only have one day to go to the Black Forest then this is the tour for you. You get about 2 hours in a small town within the Black Forest. There are many shops and restaurants as well as a boat tour of the lake to check out. With the tour group, which is larger, you get a 15 minute presentation on how the clocks are made and the rest of the time is yours. The town is more on the touristy side but still enjoyable. During the the drive there and back you get to see the forest. I would say my only complaint is that we didn't like we saw many other buses stopping to take a few pictures. After that it is on to the Rhine Falls. If you don't pay to do the boat ride there is really nothing else to do there. I would recommend doing the boat ride, you get close to the falls and it wasn't expensive. You NEED your PASSPORT for this tour.

This is a very good trip where we first went to Titsee in Black Forest area of Germany. The main attractions here are the Titsee lake and Drubba Cuckoo clock outlet store. Of course you can eat the Black Forest cake here !!! We also bought a nice cuckoo clock for our home. We then drove to Rhine Falls and took a boat ride up close to the fall. We then drove back to Zurich. The tour started around 12:30pm and we were back by 7:30 or 8pm.
