Cape Tribulation and Daintree Rainforest Day Trip from Cairns or Port Douglas

Your day tour begins with pickup by your driver-guide at your accommodation in Cairns. Travel along one of Australia's most spectacular coastal drives to the resort village of Port Douglas.

Continue to the Daintree River, where morning tea is provided before you embark on a 1-hour river cruise. The Daintree River is home to a diverse ecosystem, and your cruise guide helps you spot wildlife such as birds, snakes, frogs, flying foxes, and crocodiles. Then travel to the Alexander Range Lookout before arriving at your private lunch location at the Daintree Entomological Museum, which houses the largest live and dead collection of insects in Australia. Nearby, there is a lovely picnic area, where you'll eat your meal (you have the choice of rib fillet steak, barramundi (fish), or a vegetarian option; select when booking). You can also enjoy a swim in the rainforest creek, if you wish. During your day tour, you'll also make a stop at the Daintree Ice Cream Company.

After lunch, travel further north to isolated Cape Tribulation, where the beach beckons you to stroll along its coral sands. This is the only place on Earth where two World Heritage–listed areas meet. You have time to visit the Cape Tribulation lookout before departing on a relaxed-pace and informative guided walk through Cape Tribulation National Park. Using your imagination, picture dinosaurs trudging through this prehistoric rainforest.

After the walk, you will be offered afternoon tea before boarding your air-conditioned vehicle to traverse the Alexander Range, looking for rare and primitive king ferns growing in abundance. Then cross the river by cable barge, and enjoy a leisurely drive back to Cairns with views of the Coral Sea. Your day trip ends with return to your accommodation.
