Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa by flight or train [3650m]

Stop At: Lhasa Gongga Airport Parking Lot, Gonggar, Shannan, Tibet, China
Welcome to Tibet-the roof of the world! Our guide will meet you at airport or train station. Then drive to downtown of Lhasa and transfer to your hotel. Have a good rest for adapting to the high attitude. It is helpful to take things easy and drink enough water for the first day. Be noted the first day’s acclimation is extremely to ensure you a good health status for the following tour. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 2: Lhasa Sightseeing

Stop At: Drepung Monastery (Zhebang Si), Southern Slope of Genpeiwuzi Mountain, Chengguan District, Lhasa 850000 China
Morning, you'll visit Drepung Monastery (founded in 1416), once world's largest monastery with about 10,000 monks at its peak and one of the "great three" Gelugpa school in Lhasa. It's located on the Gambo Utse mountain, and walking up to the hill is pleasant, an easy break from the solemn ambience inside the halls and chapels. At the plat roof of hillside, you can have very good views of the whole Lhasa city and the distant mountains.

Stop At: Sera Monastery, Wuze Hill , Sera Chengguan District, Lhasa 850000 China
In the afternoon, you'll have a chance to witness the famous 'Buddhism Scriptures Debating' session at Sera Monastery (founded in 1419) which is held as per a set schedule at 3:00pm everyday except Sunday.

Day 3: Lhasa Sightseeing

Stop At: Potala Palace, 35 Beijing Middle Rd, Chengguan Qu, Lasa Shi, Xizang Zizhiqu, China, 850000
Today, you’ll have a tour to Lhasa's cardinal landmark and a UNESCO World Heritage Site-Potala Palace. Renowned as one of the great wonders on earth for its elaborate architecture built at an elevation of 3700m, this awe-inspiring palace will not disappoint you.

Stop At: Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Chengguan District, Lhasa 850000 China
In the afternoon, pay a visit to Jokhang Temple, the most respected religious place in Tibet. Thick with the smell of incense and yak butter, you’ll witness a throng of prostrating pilgrims cramming outside the temple. The temple is the masterpiece of Tibetan, Chinese and Nepalese architectural techniques.

Take a stroll around the Barkhor Street, the oldest bazaar in the city.

Day 4: Lhasa / Gyantse [3980m] / Shigatse [3840m], 360km, 6-7hrs drive

Stop At: Yamdrok Yumtso Lake, Langkazi Country, Nagarze County 851100 China
The turquoise colored Lake Yamdrok Tso is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet, the unforgettable vista of pincer-shaped turquoise water of the lake and amazing spectacle of Mt. Nyenchen Khangsar glacier from Karo la pass are the wonders of the day.

Stop At: Karola Glacier, Junction of Ngarzhag County and Gyantse County, Nagarze County 851100 China
The Karola Glacier, one of Tibet's three major continental glaciers, is located on the boundary of Langkatse and Gyantse counties. Around 71 km from Gyantse, it's situated to the north of the main peak of Karola Mountain.

Stop At: Pelkor Chode Monastery, China, Xizang Zizhiqu, Rikaze Shi, Jiangzi Xian, Unnamed Road
You will visit the Pelkhor Monastery and the famous stupa - Gyantse Kumbum, one of the most stunning architectural wonders in Tibet.
Duration: 1 hour

Day 5: Shigatse / Rongbuk [4900m] / E.B.C [5100m], 340km, 9-10hrs drive

Stop At: Rongbuk Monastery, near North Everest Base Camp, Tingri County China
Rongbuk Monastery is the highest monastery in the world and is consisted by both monks and nuns, where is still a good point to see Mt. Everest.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Mt. Everest Base Camp, kathmandu, Thamel, Tingri County 858200 China
Enjoy the sunset of Mt. Everest at Rongbuk Monastery is another highlight of today if in good weather.
Duration: 2 hours

Day 6: Rongbuk / Shigatse 340km, 9-10hrs drive

Stop At: Rongbuk Monastery, near North Everest Base Camp, Tingri County China
Get up early this morning, and if the weather's good enough, you could have a chance to see the sunrise of Mt. Everest from Rongbuk Monastery and view the peak glittering in the sunshine. It's hard to peel your gaze away from the stunning view of the magnificent north face of the world’s tallest peak - Mt. Everest (Qomolangma as its Tibetan name, meaning "Goddess Mother of Mountains"). Rongbuk Monastery is the furthest place we could reach in the Qomolangma scenic area.

Day 7: Shigatse / Lhasa 270km, 6hrs drive

Stop At: Tashilunpo Monastery, Jijilangka Road, Shigatse 857001 China
Tashilunpo Monastery was founded by the First Dailai Lama in 1447, the First Dalai Lama, is a historic and culturally important monastery next to Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet. And the monastery's structure was expanded by the Fourth and successive Panchen Lamas. Tashilunpo Monastery is one of the Six Big Monasteries of Gelugpa (or Yellow Hat Sect) in Tibet.
