When your cruise ship docks in Philipsburg, St Maarten, board your transfer coach for the 7.5-mile (12-km) drive west to Maho Beach, stopping along the way for a photo op at Cole Bay Hill.
Known for its proximity to Princess Juliana International Airport, Maho Beach (aka Airport Beach) is an island favorite due to the planes that fly just overhead, landing on and taking off from the neighboring runway.
When you arrive, spend your time on the beach however you wish — lounge on the sand and watch jets soar over the sea, go swimming in the turquoise water, or visit Sunset Beach Bar for drinks and a bite to eat (own expense).

Had to wait for an hour and a half just to get on the bus.
This was just a simple excursion from the ship to the Maho beach Airport beach. Basically we just paid for the transfer but it was nice because the bus was air conditioned and we got a rum punch on the way back. The driver was very nice and answered all our questions. The beach for beautiful and really fun. The planes seemed so close. You have to pay for the chairs and an umbrella 20. If you want to stay out of the sun you don't have much choice. There is two restaurants right there if you want a drink and or lunch. I think it is a must see.
The excursion was great. We were picked up by Will, and he was an absolutely wonderful tour guide. He told us about the history of St. Maarten while on our way to Maho Beach, and he was waiting to pick us up exactly where he said he would be. I would recommend Will to anyone. My only issue is that the time of the excursion was a little confusing. One part of our voucher said 9:00 am, another part said 10:00 am. So we got there at 9:00, checked in, but boarded the wrong bus. Luckily, they found us and took us off before they left, we were supposed to leave at 10:00. Will arrived early, and we left a few minutes after 9:00. It was a great day!
