About this activity
After a Portland hotel pickup, travel through various parts of 'Rip City' — from downtown to the Pearl District to Nob Hill, plus several other neighborhoods. Visit all the must-see attractions, including Pioneer Courthouse Square, and learn about the great diversity found in Portland’s downtown area, the historical importance it has played in the state’s history, and the fast-growing culture that exists here.

Learn about the many prominent and notable citizens of Oregon. Tour through the Pittock Mansion, a meticulously preserved architectural landmark that symbolizes Portland’s transformation from a small lumber town into a bustling city. While traveling, let the fragrance of more than 550 different varieties of roses delight the senses with the lush and beautiful Washington Park.

The last stop is the Lan Su Chinese Garden, one of Portland's greatest treasures and arguably the most interesting site to see while visiting the city. The garden is the result of a collaboration between the cities of Portland and Suzhou, a sister city in China's Jiangsu province that's famous for its beautiful Ming Dynasty gardens.

You will have a variety of options to choose from for lunch.

Visit the beautiful Columbia River Gorge! Your adventure will take place along the Historic Columbia River National Scenic Byway, where some of the locations we may stop include: Portland Women’s Forum, Crown Point Vista House, Latourell Falls, and Multnomah Falls.

You tour will start with the view from Portland Women's Forum. This location is absolutely breathtaking and it's one of the best spots to soak in a view of one of the most beautiful places on earth: the magnificent, awesome Columbia River Gorge.

Next, we will stop at Crown Visit Point House with a complete overlook of the Gorge region. Crown Point Vista House, best known of the scenic lookouts along the Historic Columbia River Highway, provides a panoramic view of the Columbia River.

Our next stop is Latourell Falls. This waterfall plunges 249' over a massive wall of columnar basalt, some of the best formations in the Pacific Northwest, before cascading hastily toward the Columbia River. This waterfall is usually most recognized for the large patch of bright yellow lichen adorning the cliff face to the right of the falls, and this characteristic has led many famous photographers to this captivating location.

We may also stop at Bridal Veil Falls. This beautiful waterfall is an elegant and graceful lady that can be fully appreciated from the deck of a viewing platform rebuilt in 1996.

Next we will drive to Multnomah Falls. According to Native American lore, Multnomah Falls was created to win the heart of a young princess who wanted a hidden place to bathe. Multnomah Falls is the most visited natural recreation site in the Pacific Northwest!

The tour ends with a return trip and drop-off in Portland.

We spent the whole day with Johnny and he was excellent. Knowledgeable. Personable, and made for an amazing experience. We had 1 day in Portland and he helped us do it right. Thanks!

Booked day tour via viator site for 15th June 2019 and the pickup was scheduled between 8.45 - 9.00am. The tour guide came 15mins early and I started early for the trip. Couple of pickups we had on the way and started with our city tour. After city tour we stopped for lunch and then continued our tour for different waterfalls. Our tour guide Crystal was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

This was to be an all day tour..... I was put with a morning tour and then a new afternoon tour. Totally different people in each group. I was dropped off for a 2.5 hour lunch in an area with very little to do. I ended up walking back to my hotel and then back to my pick up point...very frustrating! The two separate tours were good, guide was good.... but it should NOT be billed as an all day tour with a lunch stop. If I had been told there would be a 2.5 hour break I would have asked to be drop back off and picked up at my hotel; which was an area with much more to do and see. The beak was to be 2 hrs but the guides pick up took longer than expected so it was 2.5 hrs. Unfair to me apps well as the guide, who knew I was no very pleased.

Traveling through Washington, Oregon and Idaho to see these states. I like to take local tours when I am in the cities. This was a good pick. Johnny was very personable and knowledgeable. He spoke and navigated the traffic and weather with professional skill! We saw many beautiful parks and gardens while traveling through varied neighborhoods. The International Rose Test Garden was unbelievable. So many gorgeous blooms in September. The Chinese Garden was another gem with the gardens and art displays. The Pittock Mansion was lovely and had a great view of Portland. We saw several different types of waterfalls on the Columbia Gorge portion of the trip. We also stopped at the Vista House on the gorge road. There is probably no other rest stop like it in the US! We managed to get to all our stops in between the rain and some hail so I got to experience Portland's frequent weather changes! It was a great tour for me to see the city and Gorge in the short time I had available.

The guide was such a sweet, knowledgeable, friendly guy and being around him was a total joy. Unfortunately we had a real debbie downer/mean spirited person with us on the tour and with so much driving and hopping in and out she really made the tour MUCH less enjoyable. With a good group, I can imagine it would have been much more enjoyable. We hit the highlights of several different great places in and outside of Portland but there was very little time to explore at various stops... just enough time for a I've been there photo

Johnny was great tour guide. This tour included Best of Portland City Afternoon Tour and Waterfalls. Since I did Best of Portland City Afternoon tour half of the day was repeat of previous day. We went to China garden and Pittman Mansion. We stopped by lunch place where there was good ice cream and donuts place. Afternoon we got to see 3 waterfalls and fish grower place was nice, we got to see sturgeon. Great tour for Portland city, highly recommend.
