About this activity
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Udaipur at 9 AM. Leave for Kumbhalgarh in the comfort of an air-conditioned car. The peaceful countryside route makes your 2 hours journey easy-going.
The guide starts with the introduction of golden gem from the notable King Ranakumbha. Know how this citadel is the most important fort in Mewar after Chittaurgarh along with the birthplace of brave Rajput King Maharana Pratap. The elaborate fort is built on a hilltop (at 1,100 m height) in the westerly range of Aravalli Hills near Udaipur. Encompassed by cascading mountainous verdure the location emerges as dashed picture-perfect. In 2013, it is declared as world heritage site by UNESCO.
The glory of the citadel is marked by walls that extend 38 km, making it one of the largest wall complexes in the world. Other staggering features are : 15 feet thick frontal walls, over 360 temples (300 Jain and remaining Hindu), unending view of the Aravalli Range stretching to Sand dunes of Thar Desert.
After an interesting tour of Kumbhalgarh Fort, the driver will take you to next destination Ranakpur Temple. Ranakpur is a village famous for white marble Jain Temple. It is located 33 kms away from Kumbhalgarh Fort taking 1 hour journey. Pit stop in Ranakpur for having lunch and then continue journey to the Temple.
Ranakpur Temple is famous for being one of the magnificent Jain Temples. It is dedicated to Tirthankar Adinath. The temple is enshrined with deity of Shri Parsvanath Ji with 108 heads of snakes and numerous interlaced tails. Temple is adorned with numerous pillars, impressive latticework, incised marble sculptures and immaculate motifs reflecting central ideas of Jainism.
