Meet your guide at the tourist office entrance at Piazza Maggiore. The tourist office entrance is located under the portico/porch of the big building in front of the Saint Petronio church.

Tour starts at Piazza Maggiore, Bologna historical centre since Roman time. The square is surrounded by important monuments such as the Neptune fountain, the Basilica of San Petronio, the old town halls, the Palazzo dei Banchi and the Sala Borsa. Strolling under the Porticos you will reach the Archiginnasio, the old University seat, home to the world’s largest heraldic wall complex, the whole palace is adorned with about six thousand family crests and coats of arms. Leading to Piazza della Mercanzia you will have time to admire the old medieval market streets called "Mercato di Mezzo" where still nowadays food stalls display the colourful local products. Discover the Saint Stephen Complex, a group of early Christian churches and the beautiful Corte Isolani. The tours ends at the two leaning towers, the Garisenda and the Asinelli, Bologna iconic symbol.
